With the church as its centrepiece, senior orchestra Da Capo will give a concert full of atmospheric and tuneful music. In between, Wim Daniëls takes you on a virtual journey and tells a story with each route to Aarle-Rixtel, covering all the important things.
The concert starts with one song, after which Wim Daniëls begins with his story about the first route to Aarle-Rixtel. What exactly he will tell is still a surprise, but knowing Wim, he has plenty to tell. At the end of his story, the orchestra took over musically again and so it all kind of flows together. They play songs like "Hee goade mee" and "Christmas Night", among others, and so it should total 1.5 hours of entertainment for the visitors.
Da Capo has 33 members and is led by conductor Peter Spierings. They used to be the Older Youth Orchestra. They are all people who started playing music at an older age. They started in 2001 and a second training orchestra was added from 2018. From then on, they have been called Da Capo. For this year, they wanted to give a special concert and so they thought of doing it together with Wim Daniëls. Wim was immediately enthusiastic and so the idea was born.
The concert is free to attend, but you have to pick up a ticket in advance at Snoeperij Jantje. A total of 350 tickets are available, so be quick! Afterwards, a voluntary donation is possible for charity. This is for the Parochial Charitable Institution (P.C.I.). The P.C.I. reaches out to people. This can be done, for instance, through flowers, a contribution for orthopaedic shoes or even a day out. All the money raised by this concert will also be spent in Aarle-Rixtel.
Afterwards, mugs of gluhwein and (hot) chocolate can be bought at the back of the church. Seniorenorkest Da Capo hopes to be able to look back with pride afterwards.
