Francis van Broekhuizen (born 1975) is a Dutch opera singer, illustrator and
presenter of TV and radio programs. In 2022 she published her
autobiographical novel When in doubt sing loudly.
After studying social work at the Haagse Hogeschool, Van
Broekhuizen began studying voice (classical and opera) at the Amsterdam
Conservatory. In 2002 she graduated cum laude with a degree in Classical singing. As
dramatic soprano she sang many roles with Dutch opera companies. From
Broekhuizen also provides recitals and musical theater performances, such as the program
Dolle Diva. In it, she alternates songs with conferences. Van Broekhuizen is also regularly
regularly on television, for example in the conducting competition Maestro.
In her book Bij twijfel hard zingen she elaborates on the most important events
from her life. In an idiosyncratic and moving way she explains her turbulent life,
