Vocal jazz group 'Take Eight'

The Brabant vocal jazz group 'Take Eight' will give a concert at Kasteel Croy in Aarle -Rixtel. 
Vocal group 'Take Eight' is formed by 8 singers (4 ladies and 4 gentlemen), hence the name, accompanied by a combo with piano/guitar/bass guitar and drums, and led by Ruud van Vlerken.

The repertoire includes beautiful arrangements by the world's most purified vocal groups: Manhattan Transfer and New York Voices. How high the moon/Hotter than that/Desafinado come straight from the jazz repertoire. But also songs by Paul Simon (One man's ceiling ) , Stevie Wonder (I wish), Norah Jones (Sinking soon () and Gregory Porter (Painted on Canvas ) are brought with a jazzy sauce. Nice swinging up-tempo songs with rousing band accompaniment alternate with beautiful ballads and blues. With this repertoire, 'Take Eight' is unique in this region.They try to keep the sound intimate, which makes the beautiful harmonies come out even better. Ruud is very enthusiastic about the overall group, within which there have been a number of personnel changes since corona time. Each of them can stand their ground solo. Because of the many solo changes, the variety in style and tempo, the quality and enjoyment of the group itself, and especially because the combo complements the whole with fine solo work, a performance is a pleasure for anyone who loves polyphonic vocal jazz.
