Gang of Beuving
Saturday 22 April

A cabaret-style musical theatre programme by Ernest Beuving and his band in collaboration with vocal group De Halmen from Lieshout. Why 'Knock of the mill'? Ernest Beuving himself once ended up in psychiatry and there he mainly learned: 'how crazy it is not to be.' He's on anti-depressants but his motto is: 'Prozac a good time'.
Half concert, half cabaret with lots of humour, impersonations, persiflages spontaneity and no posing. The choir sings along delightfully and lies under the chair with laughter during his acts in between. Those acts range from a posthumous Prince Bernhard (complaining about Willem Alexander and Maxima), a borderline dancing Celtic singer, and a Toon Hermans about iPhones and 'Spuiten en slikken' to and a Mick Jagger with ADHD.

He works with 4 top musicians, some of whom played with Robert Long, Liesbeth List, Henk Elsink, Zenga and Purper, among others. Ernest played the show 'So long Cohen' (a musical and theatrical ode to Leonard Cohen) in a sold-out Stroud 2 seasons ago.
