The building named De Huybert across from the Latin School is the old parsonage of Gemert. The property was bought from Joffrouw de Lauwere by the Antwerp canon Leonard Gautius in 1722. From then on, the building served as Gemert's rectory. Petrus Gautius, priest-member of the Teutonic Order and parish priest of Gemert went to live there. He is a brother of the buyer. After Petrus Gautius' death, the rectory became the property of the Gemert church. In 1785 a large part of the village of Gemert burns down, including the parsonage. A new presbytery was built on the same spot by order of the Commander of the Land. Pastor Ecrevisse is the first pastor to enter the new building. The last is pastor Lambert Poell, who moves in 1935 to a new rectory built next to Gemert's old church. The building is sold.
