Boerderij: De Diepert, Handel

This beautifully preserved reclamation farm is a national monument. This farm was built in 1915 at the time of the reclamation of the Peel. It resembles a Friesian stolp farm, all under one roof, supported like a tent by four poles, with the stable door in the back. It was typical of the history of the large-scale Peel reclamations that all kinds of blending and off-peel influences emerged in the building styles; after all, the people who moved in came from all over the country. The Peel had work, land and new opportunities.

The horse blanket of thatch on the roof is typical, tiles were expensive, and were purchased in small lots when there was the opportunity. A milk house still protrudes out on the left facade.
