Blue Gate watchtower
The area can both store and retain water. This makes more water available to the water system and farmers in dry summers. The fifteen-hectare area contains a water storage and water husbandry facility, which together can store about 54 thousand cubic metres of water. The storage and holding facilities are located next to each other. The water storage area fills up automatically during heavy precipitation. Excess water from large industrial estates on the other side of the provincial road is collected in a ditch and enters the storage area via a siphon diverter under the road.
