In the hamlet of Boekent, the farmstead or estate Ter Ynde was located until the 20th century. The founding year of the estate Ter Ynde is not known, but will probably be 13th century. The Gemert Commandery of the Teutonic Order is the first known owner of the farmstead. Landcommandeur Ywan van Cortenbach gave the estate Ter Ynde in the year 1421 in long lease to private persons. The annual rent then amounted to 6½ mud of rye and 4 barrels of rapeseed, to be delivered on February 2 (Candlemas) in a new bag. The property was divided into several parts by successive inheritances. The farm that stood on this site until the 20th century formed the old core and was popularly referred to as Ter-Ingen-hoewf. It always remained a relatively large farm over the centuries. Territory on the opposite side of the road also belonged to the Ter Ynde estate in the Middle Ages.
The farm was founded at the edge of the residential area of Boekent, still referred to as Boekhout in the Middle Ages. On the access roads to Boekent, fences were placed, which had to ensure that stray cattle from the settlement could not damage the harvest on the fields. Such an access fence was called a ?128;ynde?128; at the time. The farm got its name ?128;het goed ter ynde?128; or ?128;het goed bij het hek?128;, because it was located near one of those entrance gates. The owner also had to maintain this fence. The old farm on this site was destroyed by fire and not rebuilt. In its place came the two houses on Boekent 7 and 9.
