At De Ossenbeemd, you can experience nature!

Peelrand Fault Visitor Centre, petting zoo, themed gardens, tree and gnome trail, groundwater gauge and electro game, bee hall, discovery trail and sustainability trail, starting point for cycling and walking routes. Picnic area.

Peelrand Fault Visitor Centre
De Ossenbeemd is also the visitor centre for the Peelrand Fault.
If you want to discover the region from De Ossenbeemd, you literally cannot ignore the Peelrand Fault. Right through the middle of Deurne, just a few hundred metres from De Ossenbeemd, runs the Peelrand Fault, a geological fault line from Roermond to Heesch, which owes its name to the Peel. In the nearby Heiakkerpark, the fault has been made visible by Italian artist Roberto Ruggiu, who planted red and white flowering apple trees over a length of 850 metres. It is a magnificent sight, especially in spring.

Peelrand Fault Exhibition
The Ossenbeemd visitor centre provides a wealth of information about the Peelrand Fault. A film and an exhibition wall provide further explanation about the fault. You can also admire several lacquer profiles: impressions of the subsoil of the Peelrand Fault.  You will also find some examples of the characteristic iron ore and you can admire jug pipes: these were actually the first water pipes in Deurne. Potters in Zeilberg were already making use of the specific characteristics of the fault in this way in the 17th century.
