For him, it's all about playing with photography and ink. Art is play. Since primary school, we've lost that and we all have to colour within the lines. It is much more exciting to colour outside the lines. This has nothing to do with beauty or ugliness, but with feeling. Daring to do things that come to mind. Jan-Willem prints in such a way that the chance of accidents is greatest. I want to avoid perfection and search for imperfection.
