Step back in time and discover the remarkable life of doctor and painter Hendrik Wiegersma in The Judas Kiss. This unique performance takes the audience on a journey from Cultuurcentrum Deurne through Tuinpad Park to Museum De Wieger, as if Wiegersma himself were still living there.
Surrounded by friends such as poet Adriaan Roland Holst and stained-glass artist Joep Nicolas, life seems filled with art, inspiration, and companionship. But when hidden romances and painful secrets emerge, friendship turns into jealousy and betrayal. The rift between the two artists would eventually be immortalised in paintings inspired by the same theme: the Judas Kiss.
Playwright Erik Vink, known for the successful open-air production Babylon, once again brings history to life with regional acting talent, the support of De Peelcomedianten, and direction by Benthe le Clercq.
The performance starts at Cultuurcentrum Deurne, where guests are welcomed with a complimentary drink before the show.
