Two days full of rhythm and spectacle

Music center Het Anker in Beek en Donk is completely dedicated to percussion. For two days, everything revolves around rhythm, sound, music, and a very special anniversary.

The weekend kicks off on Saturday morning with a national competition: the Sla Je Slag Cup. No fewer than nine percussion groups and ensembles from all over the country travel to Beek en Donk to compete against each other. Each group gets an hour to impress the jury and the audience with a creative and musical performance. Around 7:30 PM, the awards ceremony takes place, after which the day is festively wrapped up with a fun afterparty. Sunday mainly focuses on the celebration called percussion. The Percussion Ensemble is celebrating its 75th anniversary! Over the years, the group has developed beautifully: from the traditional snare drum corps of the past, through the well-known drum band and percussion group, to the versatile and musical ensemble of today. To celebrate this anniversary, current and former members are joining forces to make music together. It promises to be a cozy and musical day. Percussion enthusiasts, family, friends, villagers, and fans are warmly welcome to enjoy the music. Who knows, you might get so inspired that you want to try an instrument yourself! Admission is completely free on both days and you can just walk in. Note: On Saturday, the doors of the hall will be closed during the performances so that the musicians and the jury can concentrate properly. Of course, there will be plenty of opportunities to walk in and out of the hall and chat with other visitors between performances. Will you be there too?
