Garden concert BBC jazz and Lieholter Wind Band

BBC-kazz and Lieholter Blaaskapel hold a garden concert at Café-zaal Bij van Dijk.

The holidays are upon us again, but you can't leave before enjoying a wonderful evening of music. It seems an unusual combination: Big Band and German folk music. The similarity lies in the musicians, several of whom have a shared musical history. The Lieholter Blaaskapel originated in 1980 in Lieshout as De Kèlfkes and was renamed Lieholter Blaaskapel in 1992. From carnival to music that caused a furore at many a festival. So too in Aarle-Rixtel, where the various audience awards of the famous Blaaskapellen Festival went to Lieshout. The chapel of the time has returned to the essence of German and Czech folk music. Ten strong, they bring a beautiful and varied programme under the direction of Frank Fleuren. Alternating with BBC jazz, you are served up a nice musical fruit basket. A lovely start to summer.
