Inspiration Café with Jean-Pierre van Veghel

A two-person conversation on stage where the audience can freely join in with their own questions and experiences. After Wim Daniëls and Anita van Vlerken, this time it's Jean-Pierre van Veghel's turn. 

After Wim Daniëls and Anita van Vlerken, it had been announced that Frans van den Heuvel would talk about his dream: a 'courtyard' as an extension of his day activity project Power to the People. But Frans had to cancel for personal reasons. Jean-Pierre van Veghel agreed to take his place and tell his own story about selfless dedication to others. Jean-Pierre is the founder and driving force behind a day experience center in Aarle-Rixtel that provides care for people with some form of dementia, psychologically vulnerable individuals, and people with acquired brain injuries. The activities they take part in are not called day activities, but day experiences, and that’s not by chance. They make use of the necessary professionals, but also a considerable number of volunteers who are happy to help others. Jean-Pierre talks about how the day experience came about, what the future looks like, and what makes his initiative stand out from other care services, and of course, there’s plenty of time to ask him questions. Just like last time, the conversation is led by Marina Kapteyn of Stichting Spiritus. You can drop in half an hour before it starts. The planned duration is about an hour. A voluntary contribution towards the costs of these sessions is welcome.
