ODE and Old Swing with Concerto a Due

ODE, the Overdag Ensemble, and The OLD Swing Band together have a beautiful and wide-ranging repertoire to enjoy.

The Old Swing Band from this region, with 15 musicians, brings the atmosphere of dance music such as the Charleston, Swing, Rock-jive, Boogie Woogie, and styles familiar to younger audiences like the Mambo and the Cha Cha Cha, to many halls To get the audience moving, they do everything to make it a great evening, especially when well-known songs by the Ramblers and the Skymasters are played. Big band music also has many different styles and is becoming increasingly popular. This music developed from the traditional Jazz of Mississippi and Louisiana into the familiar sounds of Glenn Miller and the music of artists like Michael Bublé and Caro Emerald. ODE's first conductor, Theo Lokin, would undoubtedly have enthusiastically told the audience about this surprising mix of music styles. This evening is also all about the power of music: listening, experiencing, and enjoying together. During this wonderful evening, The OLD Swing Band and ODE come together in a musical encounter full of variety and energy. The current conductor, Hubert Geurts, has been leading the ODE club with its 50 musicians for 12 years, and for this autumn concert, he has put together a beautiful and very varied program, including Spanish and French music arrangements. ODE also knows how to swing, with classical dance music as its foundation.
