The starting point is the garden center on Bakelseweg in Aarle-Rixtel.
This walk takes approximately 2 hours. The Kop van Aarle is part of the 't Gulden Land nature and water management area between Helmond-Noord and the canal intersection. In collaboration with the municipalities of Laarbeek and Helmond, the Aa en Maas Water Board has redeveloped the area into a natural gem. The festive opening took place in April 2025. Swamp forest and grasslands alternate in this area. The rivers Aa and Gulden Aa have been transformed into meandering brooks, with the banks leveled. New nature is developing, and pools have been dug as habitats and resting areas for amphibians and other animals. The beaver has already found its way there, and volunteers from IVN have already counted dozens of bird species. An overturned tree serves as a stork pole. A sand martin wall has been built where dozens of sand martins nest. Furthermore, walking paths and several play elements have been installed. An interesting and attractive area for a peaceful walk. So put on your walking shoes and join the guides from IVN Laarbeek.
More information can be found on the website and on the IVN Facebook page.
