Aadje Piraatje – Een vat vol verhalen

All pirates hung from ropes. The wind drove the ship towards a rocky coast, where it crashed just beside a rock on a little beach. And then there was sudden calm. Master storytellers Kaatje and Maatje bring Marjet Huiberts’ fantastic stories to life. The stories have been set to music by Rogier Bosman (known from Släpstick). With lots of humour, vocal feats, burps and farts, barrels of rum and swearing, the pirate ship full of men is depicted by two women. A musical family show that will have you licking your fingers. Because that is allowed when you are a pirate! Two experienced theatre makers, Katiuscia Principato and Mariska Simon, go out together again. As singers, actors and creators they have been on stage for years or support young makers. Through their musical performances they link children’s literature and picture books with theatre. Katiuscia studied singing at Artez in Enschede and Mariska studied Sound & Vision, singing and school music at the Royal Academy in Den Haag.
