IVN Laarbeek is organizing an early morning bird walk through the De Biezen nature reserve.

De Biezen is managed by Staatsbosbeheer. The terrain contains many different landscape elements: botanically rich nutrient-poor grasslands, wet deciduous forests on loamy soil, swamp forest with so-called rabats: narrow dikes between the ditches, and dry oak forest. You can walk across wooden footbridges. On the north side, towards the N272, and on the east side flows the Snelle Loop, which forms an ecological connection with the Grotel and Milschot areas. It forms the border between Laarbeek and Gemert. From the pedestrian bridge on the Bruggenpad, you have a magnificent view of the diverse landscape elements. In addition to the various species of plants and mushrooms, De Biezen is also a bird-rich area. Walking along the path towards the ranger's house, you can often hear and see the Eurasian Nuthatch and the Great Spotted Woodpecker in the old trees. This bird walk is certainly worthwhile. We wish you a pleasant and educational trip!
