A moving road movie about family, connection and finding the courage to give and accept help. When their parents separate, fifteen-year-old Finn and his younger brother Charlie face the possibility of being split up. Determined to stay together, they run away from their home in Manchester in the early hours of the morning. Their destination is the west coast of Ireland, where their eccentric grandfather lives.

On their 500-mile journey, the brothers rely on their wit, charm and the kindness of strangers. Along the way, they meet Kait, a free-spirited street musician who is running away from troubles of her own.

Based on Mark Lowery's children's novel Charlie and Me: 421 Miles from Home, 500 Miles is a heartfelt story about brotherly love, loss, resilience and learning to face life's painful moments.
