Festival de Buitenbende at De Laarbeecke

As part of 'real-life learning,' third-year students from De Laarbeecke are organizing an interactive festival for children aged 8 to 12.

Of course, learning isn't just done from books. Excursions, internships, guest speakers, school trips… these are all experiences from which learning takes place. At De Laarbeecke, students are also increasingly carrying out real-life assignments. For instance, a very successful food truck festival was organized earlier this year, where students learned skills such as cooking, window dressing, hygiene, budgeting, and sales. A new festival is planned under the name Buitenbende. Third-year students from the vocational track will organize a free festival specifically for children aged 8 to 12. There will be all kinds of fun, sporty, and creative activities outdoors. In that respect, this event also aligns nicely with the national Outdoor Play Day. Students from primary school groups 6, 7, or 8 are warmly welcome on the schoolyard that afternoon from 1:30 PM onwards.
