Heemkundekunde ’t Hof van Liessent has developed a historical walking route through the built-up area of Lieshout.

This was done in good cooperation with the Municipality of Laarbeek. The walk will be unveiled by the aldermen Monika Slaets and Nicole Otten. The festive opening will take place at the kiosk on the Heuvel in Lieshout. A walking route has been laid out with photos along (former) historical buildings.

The route starts at the Heuvel and is available on paper, but can also be followed via an app. The audio guidance with details about the buildings can be listened to in both the Liessentse dialect and standard Dutch, and is spoken by two honorary members of the association, Henny Bevers and Nelly de Groot. Martien van de Vossenberg assisted with the recordings. For the photos and interesting facts about the buildings, material was drawn from the extensive photo archive of Heemkundekring ’t Hof van Liessent. Heemkundekring ’t Hof van Liessent hopes that many people will take the walking route, which can be a lovely introduction to the village for non-Lieshoutenaren. For those born and raised in Lieshout, it brings back nostalgic memories and possibly some new facts as well. The route on paper is available at BBC (Bavaria Brewery Café) on the Heuvel in Lieshout. The app can be downloaded, and is called the 'Ontdek Laarbeek app'.
