In the procession park in Mariahout there are various statues, many of which have a link with Mary. The concrete statue of Mary with kid, made by artist Felix van der Linden is one of them. The statue has seen a lot in its life. After Van der Linden made it in 1967, it became the property of the Helmond Association. It was given a place near the swimming pool of the Christus Koning Mission House on the Deurneseweg. The characteristic building later became part of Hogeschool de Kempel and now serves as a social refuge for young people. The statue of Mary did not live to see it. In 1983 it was donated by the municipality of Helmond to Lieshout and on 7 June 1983 was given a place in the Maplehof in Mariahout. This was on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the mining village. Another 30 years later, in 2013, Mary and child were given their (provisional) final resting place in the Procession Park. The residents of the Maplehof refurbished their neighbourhood and the statue was moved. From the Bernadettestraat in Mariahout, the statue on its newly bricked plinth, built by volunteers, is a real eye-catcher.
