In the 15th century, a St. Michael church was built on what is now the Molenweg, "alone in the fields" between several hamlets, free from other buildings. After a collapse in the first half of the 17th century, the church was rebuilt in 1672, retaining the 15th-century tower.

In the 15th century, a St. Michael church was built on what is now the Molenweg, "alone in the fields" between several hamlets, free from other buildings. After a collapse in the first half of the 17th century, the church was rebuilt in 1672, retaining the 15th-century tower.
From around 1685, the Catholics worshipped in a barn church, where the Heuvelplein and Pater Becanusstraat are now. In the 17th century, all Catholic churches in Beek en Donk were handed over to the Reformed. Because they were hardly used, they fell into disrepair. When the Catholics regained their old church on the Molenweg in 1809, it was in very poor condition. Because use for worship was too dangerous, the building was demolished around 1813; the church tower was retained. In 1835, a new Saint Michael Church on the Heuvelplein was put into use. This Waterstaatskerk was replaced a century later, in 1935, by the present St Michael Church on the Kerkstraat.
