The chapel was built in the late Gothic style with buttresses, a basket arch over the door and pointed arch windows. The architect provided the design and the many guild brothers and volunteers built it. The chapel has many traditional details such as farm weave and stones that are cross-bricked. The bricks come from an old monastery in Brunssum and they are real field bricks. That is, uneven in shape and fired in the field as they used to be. Above the door is a main anchor that was forged in one piece, representing the French lily. On the roof adorns a magnificent bell tower containing a bell cast in 1949 by bell foundry Petit and Fritsen of Aarle Rixtel. The chapel is full of guild symbolism. The chapel is named after St. George with the dragon. Eight guild heads are portrayed in the chapel and watch. The king and queen, the captain and his officiants, the dean and the drummer. They are acquaintances from guild history from beginning to end. The chapel was consecrated by Pastor van Lamoen on Saturday, March 29, 2014. More information: www.sintjorisgildegemert.nl
