Wilburtsputje
On Keulsebaan, the border between Asten, Deurne and Meijel, a stone well with a boundary stone was placed around 1900, called Wilburtsput. The well bears the inscription: “Wilburtsput 700 - 1900”.
On one side of the boundary stone is the coat of arms of the united provinces, and on the other side is a coat of arms with a double eagle and imperial crown. Saint Willibrord, Archbishop of Utrecht, from 658 to 739. The boundary stone marked the border between Brabant and the Land of Horne. This was formerly Austrian territory. From here, a straight border was drawn in 1549. The well could be dug due to the presence of the Peelland fault. It is possible that Willibrord travelled from Deurne to Echternach along this road.
