'Peel troeven' tell a story
Peel trumps can be found at various locations in and around De Peel; important and beautiful places in De Peel. Each asset is special and has a story. Together the assets tell the history of De Peel. With peat, war and raised bogs as the common thread.

The Peeltroef statue was made by artist Dirk Verberne.

The Helenavaart is the setting for a number of monumental farms, the so-called king's farms. Between 1908 and 1920, 9 large farms were built by the Helenaveen Company. The Helenavaart is the setting for a number of monumental farms, the so-called king's farms. Between 1908 and 1920, 9 large farms were built by the Helenaveen Company. The Company was originally founded to reclaim and peat De Peel. But after 1900, peat mining faded into the background and a new era began.

Royal farms
Then agriculture became Helenaveen's main means of subsistence. The farms were created with the support of the King Willem III Fund, which aimed to provide assistance to Dutch people in difficulties. Following the royal support, the farms were given royal names.

New destinations
Now that agriculture in this protected nature reserve is also becoming more difficult, a number of farms have found a new destination. For example, a traditional ice cream maker is located in Hoeve Willem III. The Oranjehoeve is a group accommodation and a mini campsite is now located at the Julianahoeve.

Landscape
From this Peel troef there is a beautiful view of the new landscape, created after the end of agricultural use. An educational water meter has been installed.

The idea is to develop more Peel assets. The assets will soon be recognizable by the so-called logos; a raised bog column and peat barrow.
