Openlucht Galerie Helmond
Centrum Management Helmond has renovated the streets, removed the graffiti and refurbished the public parks and gardens. Afterwards, the Open-Air Gallery Helmond filled the streets with various themed series of picture frames to entice people to stop and admire the streets of the city instead of ignoring them.
The goal was to make the various small streets in the city center of Helmond more attractive.
Overhead bridge
Thanks to the overwhelming success, the galleries have been expanded to the walls below the overhead bridge and they are just as popular.
The galleries are unselfishly maintained by a number of volunteers. The pictures have been made available by photo press agency Ton van de Meulenhof, who also has access to his father’s archive, who worked as a press photographer in Helmond since 1962.
The photos are printed by Weijmans Studio in Helmond.

The foundation is sponsored by the Rabobank, the city of Helmond, Woonpartners, the Foundation Alderman Van Deutekom and the European Community.
On top of that, the Foundation Open-Air Gallery Helmond won 2nd prize at the Quality Prize Helmond Centrum 2006.
