Witte Arbeiderswoningen 1922

White Workers' Houses 1921-22

The 12 white workers' houses were the foundation of the new village of De Rips in 1921-22.

They were built by the newly established housing association. The houses were initially thatched and rented by workers who from then on got their permanent workplaces closer to home.

They were set up as a keuter farm with 30 ares of land for growing grain and straw for the two pigs and cow or goat, among other things. These were in the back shed and were used for their own convenience and slaughter to earn a living as much as possible.
