In Laarbeek there are various sculptures by the hand of artist Toon Grassens. In Mariahout (Tinus Vermeulen and the Heikneuter) and Beek en Donk (De Spijkermaker), among others, are works of art by the Gemert sculptor. But none of them will be as well-known as the sculpture 'Future by Playing Together' on the Servaasplein in Lieshout. A simple, beautiful statue of an adult drummer, with a boy learning to play the drums and a dog (Tippie) looking on. The statue was offered to the Lieshout community in 1998 at the time of the merger of the Rabobanks in Mariahout, Lieshout, Aarle-Rixtel and Beek en Donk into Rabobank Laarbeek. The adult male is the spitting image of Hannes Dekkers (1858 - 1941), drummer of the Saint Servatius Guild. The young male is the spitting image of Guus Konings, who unfortunately died from the consequences of the coronavirus. After his death, an overwhelming sea of flowers formed around the statue and it gained enormous fame, a beautiful tribute.
