Single-storey building with a pitched roof, on a rectangular floor plan. Against the right-hand side wall is a slightly lower structure with a mansard roof. On the left-hand side, at the rear, there is a single-storey section with a flat roof. A narrow extension was added later to the right of the rear façade; this addition is not protected. The entire building is constructed of brick, and the roof is covered with improved Dutch tiles. A roll layer has been applied to the brickwork, and lintels are visible in the masonry above the windows. The roof has an overhanging gutter cornice on corbels. Against the front façade is a porch with roof shields, the porch has a natural stone plinth. Above the door, a round arch has been placed on a natural stone lintel, with the Dutch coat of arms carved into the arch field. Narrow rectangular windows have been installed on either side of the door. Above the porch is a structure between pilaster strips, in which three narrow windows with small muntin bars are visible. This section is crowned by a panelled gable under a gable roof and has a wind brace. In the panelling is a small oval window in a moulded frame. To the left of the porch is a later addition: a tall double letterbox with red metal doors. Above it are windows with muntin bars in the transom windows. To the right of the porch are three windows with renewed frames. A dormer window has been placed on both sides of the superstructure in the roof surface. These have windows with small glazing bars, are covered with slates on the sides and have a flat roof with a gutter moulding. The left side wall protrudes outwards. A door has been installed in it. The side wall has several windows with muntin bars, and the roof has dormer windows similar to those at the front of the roof. The rear wall has a gable under a gable roof with a wolf end and wind brace. This part of the wall has three narrow windows. Above the flat roof of the single-storey section, French doors leading to the roof terrace are visible. The façade has windows with cross frames, and the skylights have muntin bars. Dormer windows have been installed in the roof. In the lower building mass, on the right, there was a gate with a window. The leftmost part of this has been closed off in favour of a giro machine. In the roof, there is a dormer window similar to those in the roof of the main mass.

The interior has been adapted to the changing requirements of the post office.

The building is of general importance because of its cultural-historical value and because of its type of construction, its intact exterior and the development of its style in keeping with a traditional village image. The building has architectural-historical value as a special expression of a typological development.

In the past, you had to queue up in a long line to buy a stamp at the post office.

In brief

•    Reorientation towards traditional building methods.

•    Above the door is a bluestone relief with the coat of arms of the Netherlands.
