HSV ’t Sluisje's history goes back to July 19, 1947, when it was founded. Twenty-seven people from Lieshout joined that evening. A beautiful booklet chronicles the club's development over the first 40 years. Since 1975, we have had our own fishing water, the jewel of Lieshout, at the 't Luytelaar Fish Pond.
Our complex, including the fish pond, covers 3 hectares and is nestled in greenery. A wide embankment surrounds the pond, ensuring you can always find a sunny spot, or a quiet one. Even in windy weather, there's always a quiet spot. The landscaping around the pond has been carefully designed to facilitate casting carp rods and feeders. Our fish pond is also very popular with bridal couples: many beautiful photos have been taken under the large weeping willow or on the bridge. For those seeking peace and quiet, this is a breath of fresh air. You do need to enjoy singing birds, as they are plentiful here. Even the kingfisher is a popular resident.
Our fishing pond consists of two lungs, connected by a small bridge. The fish stock in the pond is fantastic: from heavy carp and beautiful bream to very nice tench. There are also roach, rudd, bream, eel, pike, sturgeon, and perch. The best fighting fish is the tench, or, as we call it in Brabant, the louw or law. Advice: don't fish too thinly, use an elastic or a reel with a drag. The water is ideal for fishing with a fixed rod and a hollow elastic in the tip. On the right lung, we have a fantastic disabled jetty, easily accessible for a wheelchair. It's also one of the better fishing spots. The clubhouse (shelter) is only 20 meters from the disabled jetty, so if it rains, you'll be there in no time.
There are benches all around our fishing pond, especially for those who come to enjoy this unique spot. To keep everything tidy, there are trash bins around the pond. There is parking for 100 cars behind the tennis courts, just 40 meters from the clubhouse.
