Another Ascension Procession to Handel
Thursday, May 9, will be the day again. This procession has been organized since time immemorial
by the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Gemert. Peter Oostenbach, president of the Our
Lieve Vrouwe Broederschap: "We are very happy to be able to organize our procession to Handel again.

At 08.30 people will gather at the Sint Jan. Fifteen minutes later the members of the
Brotherhood, together with the guild St. Antonius and St. Sebastianus and the other processionists.
Everyone is, of course, welcome to join them. The guild drummers stir the drum, signaling
thus indicating that the procession is on its way. At Dientje, the Excelsior Wind Band then joins in.
If due to rainy weather the procession cannot leave, the mass will be at 10.00 am in the
church of Handel. Both guilds and the choir Les Chanteurs will also be present then.
