The aim is for guides to give you information about all kinds of special trees. The walk is about 3 kilometres long and starts at St Michael's church. In 2023, members of IVN Laarbeek published this walk in the form of a booklet. That booklet is available for free. Beek en Donk used to be called the garden village of Laarbeek. There are many special trees and some historical sites. The route mainly goes through the southern part on paved paths and pavements.
The walk starts at St Michael's Church, a national monument since 2002, several parts of which are also listed in the National Monument Register. The church's garden already has some characteristic trees, such as a maple tree and an acacia or robinia. Near the Heuvelplein is Beek en Donk's Old Town Hall, where all kinds of exhibitions take place these days. In the adjacent neighbourhoods there are several beautiful trees, such as large-leaved lime, pedunculate oak, Caucasian wingnut, brown beech, plane trees, a red horse chestnut and a swamp oak. The route passes the cemetery near the Old Tower, a remnant of the very first Michael's Church from the 15th century. There are some tulip trees there. Near the Berkendijkje is a work of art in the shape of a tree in the water. Via Irisstraat, the walk returns to the starting point. A nice walk with extensive information about the many trees on this route.
