Asten Tourist Office
A visit to Asten starts at the tourist office! What is there to do in the area? Our staff will be happy to help you. We have free cycling and walking routes. VVV Asten organises various guided tours and our events calendar lists all events and activities.

Outdoor Centre De Pelen
Experience De Groote Peel National Park from De Pelen Outdoor Centre
De Groote Peel National Park is a 1,400-hectare raised bog area and a unique walking area. The log bridges over water and marshes offer an unforgettable experience. The landscape consists of a variety of peat bogs, lakes, heathlands and sand ridges. From the observation tower, you can look out over the vast landscape. The birdwatching hut and viewing platform offer a beautiful view of the Meerbaansblaak.
Signposted routes of two (yellow), three (red), six (blue) and seven kilometres (green) start at the De Pelen outdoor centre. The yellow route is paved and suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. You can go there for advice on walking or cycling routes, fun family trips such as the Kabouterpad (Gnome Path) and the Peel Beleef-je-Buitentocht (Peel Outdoor Experience Tour), and excursions with a Peel guide. De Pelen offers a well-stocked shop with local products, books, and fun souvenirs. The covered amphitheatre regularly hosts music performances. There is a restaurant and a large playground and picnic area.
Visitors who show their “welcome card” when visiting the De Pelen outdoor centre will receive a beautiful sticker sheet with animals.

Museum Klok & Peel
A complete day out for young and old
Discover the world's largest collection of bells and carillons at the Klok & Peel Museum, as well as the Peel collection on the natural and cultural history of De Groote Peel.
A timeline takes you through themes from the origins and ringing of bells to casting and tuning. In the main hall, you can see “Bells of the World”. The courtyard displays a replica of the large Nôtre-Dame bell cast in Asten. Ring a bell yourself, see where the clapper hangs or play a carillon.
The Peel collection tells you everything about the history of De Groote Peel, a unique area of unspoilt nature on the border of Brabant and Limburg. In “De Peel aan Zee” (The Peel by the Sea), view fossils from prehistoric times, including a mammoth skeleton, and imagine yourself at the bottom of the primeval sea with impressive video projections.
