Spruijt & Opperman

These days, everything has to be good for something. Something is not a sloppy mistake, it is a capital learning opportunity. Something is not deviant or weird, it is unique.

Giving must always make sense and everything must have a reason. And if that reason isn't there, we'll make it up.
Why is nothing allowed to fail anymore? Why can't you not feel like doing something anymore? And why is unhappiness or disappointment no longer allowed? Doesn't the greatest meaning eventually come after the toughest lessons?

Verzingeving is Spruijt & Opperman's third full-length musical cabaret programme and can be seen in Dutch theatres since September 2024. The tour runs until May 2026.

Bio:
Carlie Spruijt and Eva Opperman have formed the duo Spruijt & Opperman since 2014. In 2015, they reached the semi-finals of the Groninger Student Cabaret Festival, after which they debuted in 2016 with their first full-length cabaret programme Zij en Ik. In 2018, they released an album of the same name. The second programme Heimweeën followed and they are currently playing their third programme “Verzingeving” in which they search for meaning. The meaning of everything! But also, above all, embracing the fact that you may not feel like doing something for once.
