Finally it's finally here! The carnival season kicked off with the princes' announcement in the Heidurp in the party hall of the Buurthuis in Mariahout.
After months of silence, smooching, sneaky agreements and secret preparations, the new highnesses are finally allowed to make themselves known to the curious mob. Meanwhile, a lot of people have already been doing a lot of puzzling with the previously given hints. Mailbags full of envelopes with names have reached the chairman of the Heikneuters. But is there a good name among them? They will keep that a secret for a while yet! It will finally be revealed who the Heidurp's highness will be.
The evening starts with the announcement of the new youth highnesses. This is of course very exciting for the children from group 8 who will be leading the polonaise this year.
