Barrel organs
Barrel organs represent conviviality. Especially the dance organ was known for its power to amuse the crowds in ballrooms and at fairs. Thanks to their large number of barrels and keys, organs can play a huge variety of music, from symphonies, operas and operettas to popular dance music. The most spectacular organs in the collection are the two Gaudins and the Mortier, authentic dance organs from the twenties that were originally used in ballrooms. Come and enjoy the impressive tones of the Gaudin dance organ and marvel at the wonderful woodcarvings of the Mortier. The museum also houses the Köningsberger street organ "The Blue Drum", a Ruth fair organ and the Pluer hand organ "Onze Klenne".
Accordions
The accordion is tied to some of the country’s largest names in light music. Soloists such as Johnny Meyer, Harry Mooten and the trio "The Three Jacksons" were virtuosos with the various types of this wonderful instrument. All instruments on display come directly from a vast private collection.
Group visits:
The museum is open at any moment for groups starting at 10 people, by reservation only. Our volunteers are there for you. They know everything about the organs and will play your favorite music! Combining your visit with a drink or a bite to eat? Contact the museum for the possibilities.
