Monastery garden with cemetery wall
The Graveyard Wall in the Cloister Garden;
The wall recalls the cemetery that was located in the garden (d'n hof) near the convent of the Franciscan sisters. When the sisters left, the cemetery was cleared in 1970. The mortal remains of the sisters were reburied at the mother house in Oirschot. bricked in stone comes from the monastery that stood here in 1957 and later made way for new construction. The translation of the Latin text reads: “By the strong blows of the chisel and frequent knocks, polished by the craftsman's hammer, built of stones, joined together in a tight bond, I was placed in the facade of this great building on Easter Monday in the year 1957. I was placed by parish pastor A. van den Heuvel”
