Cycle route Deurne - Gemert
From the village of Deurne to the 'Heerlijckheid' Gemert in one day. A beautiful route through nature and the friendly church villages of the municipality of Gemert-Bakel on the cycling junction network. The tour departs from the cozy center of Deurne, northwards to recreational lake Nederheide near Milheeze and through the Stippelberg towards the pilgrimage town of Handel. Then you reach historic Gemert, after which you return to Deurne via De Mortel, Grotel and Bakel via Klein- and Groot Bruggen.

The Markt in Deurne offers attractive terraces and monuments such as the Sint Willibrodus Church and the old Town Hall, which dates from the peat colonial period. The route leads past the castle grounds with Groot- and Klein Kasteel, the Dinghuis and the Watermill.

Gemert-Bakel used to be a free Heerlijckheid in the Peel. The castle of Gemert is centuries old, an iconic heritage complex, located in a prominent place in the center of Gemert. Cozy terraces invite you to the Ridderplein. The Boerenbondsmuseum is one of the major attractions. You will also find beautiful windmills, churches and chapels in the municipality.
