If you come by car, choose the parking lot at Sportpark de Smeltkroes, Mgr. Berkvensstraat 82, 5757 BK in Liessel. The start coordinates are N 51.407554, E 5.819195.

The Schietberg
The route is known locally as the Schietberg, an area that served as a bullet trap for the pre-war Liessel shooting range. The forest is planted on sand drifts and heaths that used to be part of the Groote Heide van Asten.
ATB route network Deurne
The route can be easily combined with the other routes in the municipality of Deurne; Zandbosroute, Walsbergroute, Liesselroute, Bikkelsroute and Neerkantroute. These routes are connected by connecting routes, which are marked with the black MTB sign (black triangle with two dots underneath).
