De Groote Peel from Asten cycling route
You cycle around the De Groote Peel National Park; and even a short part through the National Park (from knot 5 to 94). De Groote Peel is one of the few areas left of the endless raised moors that once formed the border between Brabant and Limburg. Now it is a nature reserve of international class, especially renowned for its birdlife. Wide and rich in water, the landscape reminds of the past. At the time it was a place to avoid, now you can walk to your heart's content.
Tip: visit Buitencentrum De Pelen (located between knots 7 and 5) and be surprised by this unique nature reserve. Along the way you will find plenty of rest areas with picnic tables and terraces for a snack or drink.
Tip: Belfry Vossen…
