De Pelen cycling tour from Asten
This cycle route takes you to De Pelen. De Deurnsche Peel and Mariapeel, together with National Park De Groote Peel, are remnants of what was once a vast primeval landscape of living raised bog. A Natura 2000 area consisting of sub-regions: Deurnsche Peel, Mariapeel and the Grauwveen. During this cycle route, you will experience the overwhelming nature, high skies and panoramic views.
You will visit authentic peelwerkers villages such as Griendtsveen and Helenaveen and you will cycle around National Park De Groote Peel and even a small part through the National Park (from knp 5 to 94). Along the way you will find plenty of resting places with picnic tables and terraces for a snack or drink.
Tip: Belfort Vossenberg, located between node 95 and node 8; a 22-metre high watchtower with a great view of De Groote Peel National Park.
