Beek en Donk is a village and former seigniory in North Brabant. The region where the village is situated has been inhabited by people for a very long time, probably since the Mesolithic era. The village is wedged between the valley of the Goorloop and the valley of the Aa. Along these rivers, there are a number of 'broekbossen', poplar plantations and swamp areas. So you can cycle quietly under the trees, while the leaves rustle on a breeze, but the village atmosphere you can find during the route is a nice change. The route also leads you past the village of Boekel. The territory of Boekel is mainly used agriculturally. Cows, sheep and horses are grazing in the meadows; animal husbandry is flourishing here! The area is crossed by many small rivers and streams that drain the water from the Peel into the Leijgraaf. To the south of Boekel, a new nature area has been reclaimed: the Perekker. This area contains water features and a bank swallow trap, which catches the little birds. The route also passes by the cosy campsite Het Goeie Leven. Campers can enjoy nature here in the spring and summer with a campsite surrounded by woods. In the bistro with its woodland terrace, you can enjoy delicious dishes every day.
