TNT Theatre has built an international reputation for presenting Shakespeare's most important works dynamically, excitingly and directly. Specially composed music, powerful choreography and a simple performance style allows modern audiences to experience Shakespeare's great love story as an Elizabethan audience would have experienced it in a London theatre some four hundred years ago.

In this production, the play is freed from the clichés of West Side Story and the film starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Thus, the story is rediscovered, not as a story about urban street kids, but as a story about "two houses both equal in dignity". This is a tragedy of a clan war, of a city in violent chaos, torn apart by family feuds. The death of two young lovers brings the warring factions to their senses.

Verona is brought to the stage in all its classical glory, Latin passion and Baroque decadence. This is an Italy where honour, pride and family loyalty are valued over morality, peace and love. This makes this tragedy still relevant even in our modern world.

There are two performances in the castle's garden. More information can be found on the website. Tickets can also be ordered here. The performances are, of course, in English.

The small-scale performances take place in the open air and continue in all weather conditions.
