Slowcafé en Trekkersfist

For anyone who wants to enjoy a night out during carnival, there is a new initiative.

The former princes, who form the Prince's Guard of Ganzendonck, have decided to breathe new life into the pub carnival on Heuvelplein in Beek en Donk.

On Saturday evening, 14 February, Café Thuis will be transformed into a Slowcafé where visitors with restless legs can enjoy a slowonaise or a quick quick slow. There will be plenty of slow food available throughout the evening. Whether it can be served on time is not yet clear. On Monday evening, 16 February, this new phenomenon will be continued in both Slowcafé Thuis and Biljartcentrum Van de Burgt. During this Monday evening, everyone can get back and forth between the two nostalgic establishments during the Trekkersfist. This fist will take place at the same time as the Truckersbal in the Luukse Tent. Ideal for anyone in the cafés who wants to listen to a different tracklist or needs an episode of “Ik Vertrek”. Whether there will be room for a trek on the green cloth depends entirely on whether these old-fashioned carnival evenings are popular. 

The experienced members of the Prince's Guard of Ganzendonck are the initiators of these evenings. In order to guarantee the performance of nonsensical and meaningless interventions, they receive mental support from Op d'n Tocht. In recent years, this illustrious company has co-initiated the successful Luukse Tent, but these members now also need a bar stool in the evenings. Just like the many former princes who usually remain stuck in these cafés as decoration.
