On Sunday, 13 September, Museum De Wieger takes part in Open Monument Day 2026. Discover the former home and studio of physician and artist Hendrik Wiegersma and enjoy a day filled with art, history, and fascinating stories.
Explore the historic studios, stroll through the museum garden, and visit three exhibitions: Brabant Modern – Following Sluijters and Other Innovators, The Judas Kiss, and the exhibition by Karin Bos and Erik Wuthrich. Visitors can also admire – and even sit on – several sculptures by Erik Wuthrich in the garden.
Special activities include a free guided museum tour at 2:30 pm (registration at the reception desk before departure), a free children’s treasure hunt through the museum garden, and the opportunity to meet art collector Jan Geerts, who will share stories about the Brabant Modern exhibition between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

Visitors can also explore the normally closed private cemetery of the Wiegersma family in nearby Vlierden, open exclusively from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm during Open Monument Day. Volunteer guides and representatives of Brabants Landschap will be present to share its remarkable history.
