A BIESplus relay “People from De Peel” will be held at art venue 't Oude Raadhuis.
The 50th anniversary of Marinus Bies' death will be commemorated with a relay of exhibitions at various locations in the Peel.
On display in Kunstpodium 't Oude Raadhuis are works by painter Marinus Bies from Aarle-Rixtel (1894-1975), Peel photographer Martien Coppens from Lieshout (1908-1986) and draughtsman, painter and graphic artist Marinus Dillen from Mierlo (1890-1985).
'People from the Peel' the three befriended artists depict life and people in the Peel around 75 years ago. The artists born to poor hard-working families in the Peel region, were able to develop into more than regional artists despite the crisis years-thirty.
