IVN Laarbeek is organizing a tree walk through Aarle-Rixtel.

You might not give it much thought, but beautiful, special trees stand in various locations in Aarle-Rixtel. On Sunday, May 10 (Mother's Day), from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, anyone interested can participate in an interesting tree walk through the center of Aarle-Rixtel. The starting point is at the intersection of Dorpsstraat and Wilhelminalaan, near Snoeperij Jantje. Guides from IVN Laarbeek will take you on this public walk and tell you about the special trees of Aarle-Rixtel. Stories about the splendor of trees throughout the seasons, as well as cultural and historical tales. It is striking that many tree species also have special names, such as Crimean Linden, Pyramidal Oak, Snake Pine, Trumpet Tree, Sweet Chestnut, and False Christ's Thorn. The majestic Swamp Oak on Kerkstraat stands out, with its beautiful, long, arching branches covered in a bed of moss. In winter, this tree is even more beautiful, as its magnificent form is more visible then. Also surprising is the walk through the monastery garden behind the health center on Bosscheweg. Along one of the winding paths in this garden stands a ginkgo, and as you leave the garden, you see a large box elder. Hopefully, all these trees are still standing. The entire walk of approximately 3.5 km is described in a beautiful brochure, which you receive for free. An educational trip!
