Bèr Peeters will give a lecture at the IVN De Bimd building on the topic: "Nitrogen and Biodiversity."
Much has been said and written about the problems in agriculture in relation to nature. This lecture focuses primarily on the role of nitrogen and its consequences for nature. This lecture will focus primarily on what science actually says about excess nitrogen and biodiversity loss. What is biodiversity? What is nitrogen? We, and nature itself, cannot survive without it. But what are the consequences of excess nitrogen for soil life, plants, animals, and water?
Bèr Peeters was a geography teacher for 35 years, has been a member of IVN Weert for 40 years, volunteers at the Nature and Environment Center, and gives lectures, climate walks, and excursions.
