Royal Harmony Exercise and Relaxation invites the public on a musical journey of discovery.

At the Het Anker Music Center in Beek en Donk, the concert 'The New World' will be performed, with the subtitle 'The Discovery of America by Columbus.' It will be a program with Spanish and South American influences. The music evokes images of distant lands and an unknown horizon, with Christopher Columbus as the main character. The result is a concert in which music, storytelling, and visuals complement each other. Narrator Carel van der Vliet, alias Columbus, takes the audience through the story. His contributions form the connection between the musical pieces and give the evening a continuous flow. The audience will discover what Columbus experiences along the way and how the music relates to it during the concert. The organizers prefer to keep that surprise until the first notes are played. A special role is reserved for harpist Judith Campman. Her contribution adds a unique tone to the orchestra and gives the audience the opportunity to hear the harp in concert with a wind orchestra. Under the direction of Ali Groen, harmony orchestra Oefening & Uitspanning presents a program that allows for both powerful orchestral sounds and tranquil moments. Visual elements also play a part in the evening. This way, the journey of discovery takes not only an audible but also a visible form. The audience can be carried along by the interplay of sound, word, and image, without needing to know the story beforehand. The title 'The New World' leaves plenty of room for musical imagination. Wonder, adventure, and the allure of the unknown shape the atmosphere of the evening. A program for a broad audience. With the participation of Sophia’s Vereeniging from Loon op Zand, the evening also takes on the character of a meeting between two concert bands. ‘The New World’ invites music lovers and curious listeners to go on a journey together, all from their seat at Het Anker. Tickets are available via oenu.nl and at Fietsvakman van den Berg and Wetzel Optiek Optometrie & Horen.
